HENRYS
It is mathematically correct to have seven members of a band called the "magnificent seven". any more or any less would be very silly. Only current full
time members of the band are allowed the honour of wearing the "A seventh" chord symbol upon articles of clothing whereas ex-members and guests are formally known as Henrys (as in Henry VIII)
The following is the history of these reprobate musicians;
Jasper
The original sticks man, appeared in the first three shows. He liked to kick the kit about at the end of each set which upset the the poor chap that had
kindly lent him his drums. Fucked off to Australia in 1998. (replaced by Telstar)
Jim Bullet
Rhythm guitar and backing vocals, Jim was an original seventh that played the first four shows and has guested occasionally since. He left to concentrate on a more
serious project , writing his own material and fronting "Bullet Train". Jim is also a tidy hard grafting left sided midfield player and has black hair. (replaced by baby talc)
Paranoid Bob (aka Bengers)
Founder member of the Mag7 along with sticky and
iffy. Played his bass with a dedication and ferocity that meant he used up all his allocated notes for a whole set within the first song! Also played at a Volume level that started earthquakes, at least one in
Japan and two in India of which we know about. Still available for demolition work on small houses. Too much of Bob's time was taken up running around in circles, swimming up and down in straight lines and
cycling an eighty mile round trip with his bass cab on his back after relocating to sunny beaconsfield.. (replaced by fruit)
Sticky Moan
An ever present until April 2001, Sticky was a founder member of the band. Musical direction and Commitment were the main reasons for
Sticky falling on his sword. Do you miss him? Was a frequently asked question in the early days of his departure. "No we always manage to thrown a small piece of screwed up gaffa tape at his jacket every
time we see him" was a typical mag7 humorous reply. Sticky still gets involved occasionally with some DJing before the band perform. (replaced by ivan the frog)
Michael Shoemaker
A friend of Sticky's, Robin bore an uncanny resemblance to
the German racing driver but boy could he blow a mouth organ. Appeared at the rock garden on paddy's night and guested on three or four songs. Has since gone on to win the formula one championship on no less than
one hundred and twelve occasions.
Mike Welton
Guest
appearance at trumpets bash, Mike proved to be more flaky than a leper colony and was never asked back.
Simon Deville
A true thespian who gets involved guesting whenever possible. limited appearances are due too other commitments, the most famous being when he took his
uncle Douglas Baader onto "stars in there eyes" and told Matthew Kelly in front of a live live television audience of millions that "tonight Matthew we're gonna be Simon and half uncle!"
Mario
The most regularly involved Henry. Maria helps out with sclapping and
knob wiggling. Best known because although he looks of Mediterranean decent he was actually born in Sweden, his real name is Bjorn and spent his formative years growing up in Wanstead.
Always does at least one song usually his favorite Madness number "Wanstead Bjorn"
